Mavic Air 2 Drone — 10 Tips You Should Know Before You Buy…
I crashed her the first try but it was my fault…she’s a warrior!
I’ve owned the Mavic Air 2 for about a month now and I love it! I bought it for various reasons and would like to share what I think you should know before you buy one.
- Check the below list to see if your cell phone will work as it might not be compatible. Mine wasn’t on the list so I bought the cheapest I could find which was the LG Stylo 5 which isn’t too bad.
You will also know your phone will not work if the app won’t download from the play store.
2. I was in the desert and had to get approval from the FAA. It only took a minute but the Mavic Air 2 you will have to register (takes 5 mins and cost $5). The Mavic Mini because of the weight doesn’t have to be registered.
3. Get the optional cell phone hood. It’s $29 but def helps with cell phone reflection.
4. Get the combo pack. The batteries alone are worth it.
5. DJI has good packaging. The drone was new and sealed nicely. The packaging reminds me of Apple, just a step-down, but nice.
6. I flew my drone on the first try. Thanks to youtube videos! I did crash her as I couldn’t see because of the glare on the cell phone. I got confused. She’s a tough cookie and wasn’t injured.
7. Buy directly from the manufacturer https://www.dji.com/ I feel you will get a new drone. I think if you buy from Amazon you will probably get someone’s return.
8. Take your cell phone off sleep mode. You don’t want your phone to go black when you fly.
9. Get insurance. When you buy direct from DJI it’s cheaper than Bestbuy.
10. Update 11/17/20 the batteries are sucky! I will charge all day and they will read a 4 point charge and then when attached to the drone it goes to 3 points.
11. This is a great investment! Air photography wow! Up your photography game and get a drone! You can always pawn it if you need some money. I mean I don’t know for sure but I can imagine it’s pawnable.
