The Cellphone Or Computer? Which one is more important when conducting business?
The keywords to be noted here are “conducting business”. If I had to choose between my cellphone or computer/laptop to conduct business I would choose my computer/laptop.
Cellphones are good for communicating, games, videos, photos, music, reading, recording, tracking, and drama but in the real business world where you are dealing with raw data, twenty column complex worksheets and have 100 google windows open for whatever reason, a cellphone is just too small.
I will be reading something and the writer will say something like, “the older crowd” still uses computers and I say that person is hooked on his cellphone and hasn’t been in a real business environment, because you can’t use a cellphone in a business office to do work. You might as well stay at home.
Picture a pyramid, a structure most companies are formed by. We have a president or CEO at the top, then on the second row, there are vice presidents and other upper management.
The next row has middle people like managers and then on the bottom row are the rest of the employees. Now those employees at the bottom are not bad people they’re just at the bottom of the pyramid and are the ones in the field like drivers who rely on their cell phones for communicating and getting their job done, but the guys on top rely on a computer with a projection screen the size of a wall for complex data.
A CEO may have a laptop for travel and a cellphone for communicating but real business people have a real computer (s). Yes, Amazon employees that work in a warehouse might use a handheld or cellphone type of device for inventory and communicating, however, when it comes to the flow of money, the accounting department cannot use a cellphone for work. Technically they could be it would not be productive.
Yes, some of you make money off of your cell phone most likely via social media, but most of you I bet work a job and if it’s not in an office you probably don’t how to use any of the Adobe products or the latest OS for MAC and PC. Yes, you know all the games, all the videos and music and have a million apps on your cellphone, but you are limited in what you can do in the real business world with a cellphone.
Also after 10 to 15 years on your cellphone, I bet you’ll wear glasses due to the strain. You’ll find that info in the fine print of your cell phone manual. So all the little kids that start using a cellphone as babies will wear glasses (soon bionic glasses) by the time they’re in 7th grade. Look around, you may have not even noticed, but do you see a lot of people with glasses on their cell phones? Look at the age…
Some people have no computer experience (at all) because they say they don’t need it because they have a government phone. Great for me as it keeps them out of the economic market as my competition.
The real truth is that some people are hooked on their cellphones and see computers as antiquated. I like those people that are hooked because it means more business clients for me!
